Capilano Maritime Design Ltd. is currently overseeing the construction of the 13.5m purpose built tug designed for Manitoba Hydro. CMDL previously completed a detailed design package and specification and supported Manitoba Hydro in the selection of the shipyard.
The tug is currently under construction at Ocean Industries in Quebec City. The tug will be constructed and outfitted at Ocean’s facilities then broken into four modules and shipped by truck to northern Manitoba. CMDL will oversee the final assembly and trials in northern Manitoba prior to delivery to Manitoba Hydro.
